Dr James is a Spatial Scientist with expertise in interdisciplinary research that integrates physical sciences (Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Science), and Social Sciences (Economics and Social Survey Methods). Interdisciplinary paradigm to addressing human-environment dynamics and its socio-economic implication has continued to remain his passion. Dr James is currently a Deputy Director and head of Hazards and Environmental Management Division in the Strategic Space Applications Department of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja, Nigeria. At NASRDA, he has been involved in the coordination of space application projects in the thematic areas of hazards and the environment. In addition, he coordinates the activities of the regional support office of the United Nations Platform for Space Based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (UN-SPIDER) in Nigeria; an office that is responsible for supporting the West and Central African countries with space based solutions to disaster management.

Godstime is Deputy Co-Chair of GEO DRR Working Group, supporting subgroup 1.
