GEO Week 2019 will include a dedicated Industry Track for the world’s leading tech, space and geospatial companies to come together with businesses that need Earth observation-enabled digital products. A series of events worth attending in its own right, the track will enable businesses to promote their capabilities, to network and create new partnerships, and to make deals and announcements.
Lead by the Australian Space Agency, with support Australia’s national science and technology agency CSIRO, the Industry Track will include the GEO Week Exhibition, networking events, pitch sessions and the facilitation of bilateral meetings.
Ministers attending the GEO Ministerial Summit and the broader GEO community want to hear how the commercial sector can contribute to and benefit from GEO’s work, and what they can do to facilitate this.
Events and opportunities are being explored to maximise the ability of the commercial sector, governments and international organisations to connect with one another and have their voices heard.
Consistent with the overall GEO Week theme of digital economy, the Industry Track theme is “Advanced technologies to analyse big data about our planet.”
Specific topics to be covered include:
Small, medium and micro sized enterprises (SMMEs) are encouraged to participate, as their capabilities are critical to the realisation of the potential of Earth observation to transform our societies and economies.
Reflecting the unique challenges they face when considering participation in events like GEO Week. GEO’s Members are working to facilitate SMME participation, with a number convening trade missions and/or providing travel support. Speak to your government’s GEO representatives today!
