The work of the Group on Earth Observations is guided by the "Key Documents" listed below and in the sub-directory on the left. The GEOSS 10-Year Implementation Plan, its related Reference Document, and the Rules of Procedure were adopted when GEO was established in 2005. The GEO 2007 - 2009 Work Plan was adopted in 2006 and has been updated several times since then; the most recent version is featured here.
The official Summit documents include the outputs of the 2007 GEO Cape Town Ministerial Summit as well as the results of the three earlier Earth Observation Summits that preceded, and led to, the creation of GEO.
The official documents for the annual Plenary meetings are more extensive. Documents submitted to the Plenary are sometimes adjusted during the meeting, and these are the versions included here.
The formal launch of GEO in 2005 was also prepared by six Ad hoc GEO meetings held from 2003 to 2005. This subdirectory includes documents, statements and presentations from these meetings.
