The Group on Earth Observations Secretariat

The GEO Secretariat is located at the World Meteorological Organization building in the international quarter of Geneva, Switzerland. It is headed by a Director. The Secretariat staff includes approximately eight scientific and technical experts who are seconded for two or three years by Member governments and Participating Organizations. Additional staff members oversee external relations, work plan coordination, administration, IT and other general functions. The Secretariat also employs a limited number of contractors (consultants) to support specific activities.
